Light the World Giving Machine

This holiday season, visitors to Tysons Corner Center can experience the Light the World Giving Machines, a unique charitable initiative sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. These bright red vending-style machines flip the script on holiday shopping—offering people the chance to purchase items that directly bless individuals and families in need, both locally and around the world.

With a simple swipe of a card, participants can choose to donate essentials such as meals for the hungry, warm clothing, school supplies, livestock, clean water, or life-saving medical care. Each selection represents a tangible gift of hope, with 100% of all donations going directly to carefully selected charitable organizations.

Since their launch, the Light the World Giving Machines have inspired millions of dollars in donations across cities worldwide, turning acts of giving into a joyful community tradition. The campaign reflects the belief, rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ, that “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35, KJV). By inviting people of all faiths and backgrounds to serve their neighbors, the Giving Machines embody the message of Christ’s love and light during the Christmas season.
