The Let’s Read! Literacy Tutoring Program supports local 2nd graders who are reading below grade level. Launched in September 2024, it provides one-on-one tutoring through dedicated volunteers who receive comprehensive training and support. The program has shown significant improvements in students’ reading skills and confidence. Positive interactions with volunteers help create a nurturing environment where children feel valued. Teresa Whitehead who is a program volunteer shares, “Our students are blossoming, and I see a difference in our students. Their reading skills are improving, and they are more confident in their learning.”
